Strawberry And Mango Smoothie

Did you know that a cup of strawberries already contains 150% of the recommended daily dose of Vitamin C?  Strawberries are rich in Vitamin C which helps boost the immune system and keeps the skin radiant. They are also high in antioxidants which help keep cells healthy. Mangoes are also rich in vitamins and minerals. They are said to reduce risks of high blood pressure, cancer and other illnesses.

Ingredients: 10 hulled and halved strawberries, 1 mango (medium-sized and pitted), ½ cup orange juice, 2 tablespoons lime juice, 2 tablespoons honey, ice cubes

Procedure: Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until the texture is smooth. Meanwhile, if you want to create layers, blend strawberries, 1 tablespoon lime juice and ice cubes first. Then, pour them into the glasses and add a dash of sparkling water. Next, on a clean blender, place the mangoes, 1 tablespoon lime juice, honey and ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Pour over the glasses containing the pureed strawberries.

Notes:

  1. This recipe makes 2 servings.
  2. If you don’t want the mango pulp in your smoothie, blend the mangoes first. Then, strain to remove the pulp.
  3. You may garnish the smoothie with mint leaves.

 Orange And Lemon Smoothie

Oranges and lemons are the go-to fruits for people who want to combat flu. Add ginger (which is known to kill viruses which cause colds) into the mix and you’d have a smoothie that’s not only going to help your employees fight flu but also relieve their sore throat.

Ingredients: 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, 4 seedless oranges (medium-sized and peeled), 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger, 5 teaspoons honey, 8 ice cubes

Procedure: Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until the texture is smooth.

Notes:

  2. You may use maple syrup instead of honey.
  3. Add more honey or maple syrup if you want your smoothie to be sweeter.
  4. You may also add cayenne pepper which is a natural decongestant.

Green Power Smoothie

This smoothie is made up of several fruits which aren’t just rich in vitamin C but are also packed with vitamin A, potassium, and fibre. It also contains vegetables like spinach which has properties that strengthen the immune system.
